Heinrig Distribution is an importer and distributor of cigarettes, cigars, alcoholic beverages and wines. The company has been operating in Romania since 2003 and in 2014 it has recorded a turnover of 64 mil. EUR, 13% higher than the previous year.
The rapid development of the business and, consequently, the increased complexity and volume of the internal operations, determined Heinrig’s managers to implement ERP and BI solutions in 2012 in order to manage their resources more efficiently and to have access to advanced reports and analyses. A year later the company implemented SeniorWMS – developed on the Mantis platform, the leading provider of logistics systems and consultancy in Southeastern Europe – to automate specific warehouse operations. The WMS solution improved the logistics activity, thus representing the next stage in the development of the company.
After using SeniorWMS the feedback from the warehouse employees is more than positive. By using the SeniorWMS solution Heinrig managed to increase warehouse employees’ productivity and reduce the orders preparation time. By structuring the operations and implementing well-established procedures, the employees followed the working steps and became more organized. For example, before using the WMS system, when an employee that was preparing an order took a break, he would lose count of operations, so he had to check to whole process from the start. With SeniorWMS, the probability of having this type of problems was eliminated because the application’s intuitive interface allows employees to easily check order status or product features.
The integration of the WMS with the ERP and Business Intelligence solutions has led to connecting all departments, giving managers an overview of the key components of the business.
