Light Candel Art has improved logistics processes and optimized workflows thanks to integrated systems from Senior Software. Thus, the candle distributor eliminated issues such as the lack of real-time access to data of interest and of visibility over products in the warehouse, problems related to inventory, but also those regarding the accuracy and order preparation times.

Light Candle Art, a company from Ilfov that deals with the distribution of candles, has made all business processes more efficient and reduced order receiving and preparing times, using high-performance ERP, BI and WMS systems. Prior to implementing them, the distributor did not have access to updated information, storage spaces were not optimized and they could not accurately estimate the required stocks. For these reasons, the company faced difficulties in managing both the movement of an increasing volume of goods and customer orders, and the offer could not be synchronized with the market’s demand.

In addition, business growth strategies were not feasible because they were based on delayed reports and on the analysis of incomplete or inaccurate data. These aspects negatively influenced customer satisfaction, employee productivity and, implicitly, the distributor’s development plans, for which the company invested in a package of integrated systems.

The company generally carries out B2B sales, but part of its income also comes from selling products to individuals through online sales channels. Thanks to the Business Intelligence system, the distributor can analyze data from the ERP to track detailed sales situations and more. Sales can be broken down by product groups, suppliers, customer types and other criteria of interest. At the same time, the distributor can issue forecasts that are as accurate as possible regarding demand and stock requirements, even a few months in advance, and benefits from a clear view of the entire business. Therefore, BI reports and analyses have helped – and continue to help – decision makers to outline and implement the most effective business development strategies.

The WMS system is connected to the company’s resource management solution, ERP software, which, in turn, is integrated with the online sales platforms. Thanks to the links between the systems, taking customer orders and sending them to the warehouse, to be ready for delivery, takes place without interruptions or errors.

With the help of WMS, warehouse operators have become more productive, working efficiently and in a more organized way, as a result of space optimization and due to the fact that they can quickly and accurately identify products during picking. These aspects contributed to the development of logistic operations in an optimal time and to the improvement of both employee and customer satisfaction.

”Without WMS, we probably would have had many dissatisfied customers. The software shows us at any time where each item is stored and in what quantities. Before this, there were situations in which parcels were prepared up until 9 or 10 in the evening, and now, even in the middle of the season, this does not exceed 7, it rarely reaches 7.30, which means less pressure on our employees. We want people to come to work with pleasure and the WMS helped a lot in this regard as well. Even those of them who were more reluctant, soon declared themselves very satisfied.

As expected, quickly after the implementation there was a decrease in sales, which lasted a maximum of 2-3 weeks, but, after employees got used to the WMS system and pickers extremely quickly gained experience in using it, the increase in sales was exponential.”
